The
Gia Carangi Project (TGCP) is
more than just a fan site. Our main goal is to
give our visitors new insight on the subjects of HIV/AIDS and drug addiction. We
tell Gia's story here in the hope that someone reading this will make
different decisions.
The
tragedy of Gia tells us about the misfortunes that for years have plagued
our society. One of the many lessons it teaches is that drugs consumed by
young kids are generated by the society in which we live.
Gia
Marie Carangi (January 29, 1960 -
November 18, 1986) is best known as one of the first supermodels born from
the decadent disco era of the late 70s, early 80s. She had it all: fame,
money, adoration and a face to die for! Sadly, none of it could buy the
love and happiness she searched for. During her short life, Gia fought
personal demons and battled drug addiction. Her love affair with heroin
led to her untimely demise from AIDS at the tender age of 26. more
